My Story

I'm taking on the 100 Challenge for JDRF, the charity that funds research to treat, prevent and cure type 1 diabetes.

My challenge is to cycle 100 miles each week from now until the 14th of November (National Diabetes Day)

On the 12th of November I set a challenge to cycle for 100 hours and I want to get as many people as possible to help me. The event will take place at Nuffield Health Plymouth and I would appreciate as much help and support as possible.

This condition affects 400,000 people in the UK, with over 29,000 of them children. JDRF aims to create a world without type 1 diabetes. Until that day, your support is vital to help fund world-class research, improving treatments until JDRF finds the cure.

2021 has been a phenomenal year for JDRF in regards to research progress. The immunotherapy drug Teplizamab which can delay type 1 for up to 3 years is being reviewed by the FDA thanks to JDRF research. Alongside the Artificial Pancreas App technology being trialled for the NHS. However, funding has declined due to the impact of Covid. Now, more than ever, we need your support to keep this momentum going so that we can find even better treatments and eventually a cure.

Please support me and JDRF by sponsoring my JDRF 100 Challenge.

Thank you!
