My Story

I'm taking part in the One Walk for JDRF, the charity that funds research to treat, prevent and cure type 1 diabetes.

"Our darling son Charlie was diagnosed back in January 2022 after a very sudden onset of symptoms. One moment he was just a normal 5 year old living his best life, and the next, pin-balled into a whole new world of treatment and injections. Your donation would mean the world to us, and would go towards finding a cure for Type 1 diabetes. So much has been happening recently that we are almost certain a cure will be found in Charlie's life time. Everyday we live in hope! Thank you."

Type 1 diabetes is an auto-immune condition that affects 400,000 people in the UK, with over 29,000 of them children. Incidence is increasing by about four per cent each year and particularly in children under the age of five. JDRF aims to create a world without type 1 diabetes. Until JDRF finds a cure, your support is vital to help fund life-changing research, improve treatments and technologies and support everyone affected by type 1 diabetes.
